8 Epic Team Building Activities Everyone Will Love

by Tanya June 17, 2022

Team building activities are a great way to help employees, teams, or classes work together more effectively. It takes an effort to organise a fun team building event that will bring everyone together.

You have to consider your culture, brand, different personalities, and age groups.

Being a Millennial, I know how important it is to bond and connect with people you’re obliged to interact with every day.

Human beings are instinctively wired for connection and belonging. And we want to feel it at work, too. In this blog post, we will discuss some fun team-building activities that everyone is sure to enjoy.

1. Have a picnic in the park and play games

You don’t have to go far for a great team-building activity – you can find everything you need right in your local park.

A picnic is a great way to enjoy some time outdoors with your colleagues, and playing games like frisbee or tag is a great way to get everyone moving and interacting. Plus, it’s a budget-friendly option that everyone will love.

A park with plenty of green space is ideal, and if there’s a playground or body of water nearby, even better.

Make sure there are picnic tables or blankets for everyone to sit on, too.

Once you’ve got the logistics sorted, it’s time to start thinking about food. This will vary depending on whether you’re doing a potluck-style picnic or hiring caterers, but either way, you should try to have a variety of options that will please everyone.

Don’t forget to pack some games and activities. A frisbee, football, or other ball is always a good idea, and lawn games like croquet or badminton can be fun for groups of all ages.

2. Go to an amusement park or go-kart track

If you’re looking for a fun and unique team-building activity, try an amusement park or go-kart track.

It’s a great way to get everyone out of the office and bonding with one another. Not sure where to start? We’ve got you covered. Here are some tips on how to plan the perfect amusement park or go-kart track team building day:

  • Choose an amusement park or go-kart track that’s convenient for everyone to come.
  • Make sure to check the weather forecast in advance so everyone can dress appropriately.
  • Schedule the team building day for a time when the amusement park or go-kart track isn’t too busy. This will help everyone avoid long lines and make the most of their time.
  • Plan some fun activities that everyone can do together, like a scavenger hunt or an obstacle course.

3. Have a beach or lake day filled with water sports

Spend the day at the beach or lake, enjoying the water and each other’s company. Some fun water sports to try with your team are paddle boarding, kayaking, or even swimming races.

If you have a keen eye for paddle boarding, here you can find the best spots to visit. From the West Coast to the East Coast, there are plenty of great spots to bring your team for a fantastic day of bonding.

Water sports are a great way to have fun and bond with your team. Plus, they’re a great workout! After a day of paddle boarding, you’ll be exhausted but satisfied. And your team will be closer than ever.

4. Take everyone for a hike or go geocaching

There are so many different types of activities that can bring a team together and help them bond. One great option is to take everyone for a hike or go geocaching.

Geocaching can be a fun activity for teams to bond by using communication and problem-solving skills. Hiking is a fantastic and simple way to enjoy the outdoors with your team.

Both of these activities require teamwork and communication, and they’re also really fun! Plus, they’re great ways to get everyone outdoors and moving around.

Who knows, you might even discover some hidden gems along the way.

5. Themed pub quizzes

Quizzes are convenient, interactive and they can be easily adapted to your industry or a party theme without guests needing to move seats.

PS! You can always hire a party host, who will manage the activity, keeping it fast-paced and smooth.

My favourite pub game is ‘Pass the mic to continue the story’.

Start off with the first sentence of a story and ask guests to pass the mic and continue the narrative.

To keep things interesting, introduce new characters and encourage attendees to react to plot twists creatively.

You can introduce yes or no at Pickerwheel.com – it’s a wheel that helps you decide “yes” or “no” answer randomly by spinning, which can make games more interesting.

This is a fun improv exercise, which will get everyone to pay attention and become less self-conscious.

6. Rent a room at a local paintball or laser tag facility

There’s nothing quite like bonding with your coworkers by shooting them with paintballs, is there? Or zapping them with lasers.

If you’re looking for a fun and unique bonding activity, why not rent out a room at a local paintball or laser tag facility? Here are just a few reasons why this would be an awesome idea:

  • It’s a great way to get everyone out of the office and do something active.
  • It encourages teamwork and communication.
  • Paintball and laser tag are just plain fun!

7. Go bowling

Bowling is a classic team-building activity that everyone can enjoy.

It’s a great way to get everyone out of the office and into a fun environment where they can let loose and have some friendly competition.

Plus, it’s a great way to bond with your colleagues outside of work. Also, many bowling alleys offer discounted rates for corporate groups, so it’s a great way to save on your team-building activity budget.

8. Have a board game night

If you’re looking for a team-building activity that will get everyone laughing and having fun, then you should definitely try breaking out the board games.

It’s a great way to bond with your coworkers and get to know them better outside of work.

To make things even more fun, you can set up teams and have a tournament-style game night. This is sure to be a hit with everyone and will create some great memories (and maybe even some friendly competition).
